Atlanta Airport International Terminal…very pretty but they stick it to their captive audience – wifi access is $5 or you’re stuck with a limited portfolio of local interest sites…one of which was SPSU, so I thought I might have access to an email account, but no, that’s outside the free service.
The Jekyll Island Seafood Co was the first bar I tried in F terminal, no power outlets and service sucked. Granted, I picked the table furthest from every other which was in a secluded alcove, but the server saw me several times and failed to pounce quickly enough.…no tip for you buddy. I left after 15 minutes of no service.
Moved to the Tapas bar upstairs….attentive service and some more down-home clientelle. Way better. Chatted with Alabama natives about sports and then the Dutch arrived. Big guy sat next to me wearing the obligatrory orange scarf. Turns out they’re reps from a Dutch organization concerning pig farming who had been visiting Iowa to learn about some new virus afflicting swine which is airborne and which can travel up to 9km and still be infectious….more research required, but I think they’re concerned about a serious infectious disease problem. Pigs are fairly close to humans as I understand…so I wonder if there’s the potential for cross special transmission?
Looks like gate F10 is clsoe enough to the Delta Sky Lounge to piggyback on their wifi…..
